Medical Department, Division of Infectiology and Pneumonology, including Pneumonological Oncology

Professor Dr. Christian Witt heads the Sub-division Pneumonological Oncology at Charité. In this 25-bed facility a team of specialized physicians and nursing staff helps patients with lung diseases.

  • Lung tumors: Early detection of cancer with auto-fluorescence bronchoscopy and multimodal lung cancer therapy by the interdisciplinary Thorax Team
  • Severe fibroses
  • COPD
  • Emphysema
  • Pulmonary hypertension
  • Correction of stenoses and defects of the central respiratory system with laser and stents
  • Pulmonary hemorrhage
  • Lung carcinoma

 

Our clinical team also includes physiotherapists, a social worker, interpreters and Catholic as well as Protestant pastors to support our patients. We closely cooperate with physicians of other medical disciplines and approach specific issues in an interdisciplinary way.
